Client: Niche Design & Construction, Wanaka
Brief: To create a new website for the team at Niche Design & Construction, with minimalist text and image styling to match their brand and present a modern, clean and fresh image.
Amy and Kawhata had an existing Squarespace website, but it was out of date and needed an overhaul. We decided to build them a new website on the WordPress platform, as it is highly flexible, scaleable and also has great options for Search Engine Optimization.
We were also asked to create the text content for the website, so we worked with them to understand their key values of quality, honesty, fine craftmanship, excellent service, truth to materials and careful design. We wove these values throughout the text, also making sure to include key search terms that will allow them to be discovered in search engines and drive organic search traffic to their website.
The Niche Design & Construction branding is very clean and minimal – using black, grey and white with a striking icon and bold font. To compliment this, we ensured that the text styling was minimal, using a sans serif font in two weights – bold to match the logo, and then a fine weight for the rest of the text.
The website will be expanded upon as they add a projects gallery, testimonials and possibly a blog.
