Brief: To create a new website for Colour Concepts – a Rotorua Interior Design, tiles, drapes, wallpaper and blinds store.
Colour Concepts has been helping homeowners, building contractors and businesses throughout Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty with their interior design for nearly 20 years. They recently moved into a new showroom on Eruera Road and wanted a refreshed website to complement their brand-new showroom.
Colour Concepts has the best range of tiles and window treatments in Rotorua, as well as offering interior design advice, 3D bathroom modelling and commercial painting & residential decorating services.
We were given a lot of freedom to create the look and feel of the new website. To complement their new premises, we chose a warm yellow ochre tone to be the feature colour to go with their black and white branding. This echoes the wooden features they have in their showroom in the floor, the shelving and the benchtop. The web design is full-width, responsive, and light and bright.
Before the website build, Chelcie from Colour Concepts organised a professional photo shoot which provided us with a range of high-quality imagery to use on the site. We also sourced a range of images from their curtain, blinds, fabric, wallpaper and tile suppliers.
Having a professional photographer take images of you and your business when you are building a website is such a smart thing to do. What is does give you a cohesive and brand-aligned look in your website and associated marketing materials. The investment is more than worth it to have a slick, professional looking website that shows you in your best light. It also means that all other promotions using the images tie together, and present a unified brand identity to the world and help create brand recognition.
We also completed the copy writing for the website, which means that every page has SEO optimized copy that is targeting all of the keywords and phrases that are important to their business. This also made the website build process much easier for the team at Colour Concepts, as it reduces the time for supplying copy to a one-hour meeting and some time proofing the drafts – but all the writing work is taken care of!
Another feature of the website which makes life easy for the team is a gallery page that pulls images from their Instagram page. This is a quick and effective way for busy business owners to create fresh content on their website, without having to add another task to their list.
