Client: Pembroke Patisserie, Wanaka
Brief: To create a special ‘Pick Me Up Promise’ voucher as part of a relaunch campaign for Pembroke Patisserie after being closed for Covid-19 alert levels three and four.
Pembroke Patisserie is a Wanaka cafe that, along with everyone else around New Zealand, had to close for many weeks during the lockdown. While closed, owners Kirsty and Matt reflected on what this forced isolation had done to the community and wanted to help encourage reconnection at level 2.
Kirsty briefed us to design a “Pembroke Pick Me Up voucher”; a promise to reconnect with someone you had missed while at home in your family bubble.
For every voucher sold, Pembroke Patisserie donated a $10 coffee voucher to Community Networks in Wanaka. This incredible organisation then gifted these to people in the Wanaka community who needed a bit of cheering up.
For the design, we wanted to create a lockup that was warm, welcoming and visually created a picture of connection. The ‘promise’ wording evoked the idea of a pinky promise, so we used that is the imagery, along with some creative lettering in Pembroke Patisserie red and black.
