Brief: To create a beautiful brand for a new home decor company that focuses on affordable, handmade and unique pieces.
Grace approached us with an image in her mind of the type of branding she was after, and was ready to go with a beautiful mood board that she had curated. This set a very clear direction for the project, but also allowed us to create a brand that is meaningful as well as beautiful.
Organic, natural shapes, archways, stairways, feminine typography and a warm earthy colour palette were the brief. Paired with her brand values of artistic, current, enchanting, powerful & reflective – the stage was set for a stunning logo design project.
We presented four brand design concepts. These were all housed within an arch shape, but each had their own unique identity and meaning. The logo concept that Grace chose is identified by a striking icon, made up of abstract shapes that are created to be the stylised shape of the letters R and H. By using her company initials as the design springboard, we were able to create a mark that is uniquely hers.
The shapes, viewed through the arch are reminiscent of a window pane, and landscape elements – something which was a key part of the brief, and we were able to include in an abstract way.
The font is elegant with subtle flares on the ends of the letters. The typography was deliberately kept simple to match the minimalist icon – to compliment, rather than detract from this bold, but simplistic central mark.
As with all of our branding projects, we created a variety of different lockups to ensure the brand is versatile.
After the branding was complete, we moved onto designing her business card and thank you card. The business card is a die-cut design that is an arch shape to echo her brand design.
