A key goal of the project was to ensure the new site felt as refined as the chocolates themselves.
Their previous website didn’t feel as premium, so didn’t represent the quality and artistry they put into their creations. Our focus was on delivering a fresh, modern web design that captures the upscale feel of their brand and creates a smooth purchasing experience. We wanted the website to support their business growth, improve mobile shopping, and make browsing and buying feel effortless for both new and returning customers.
We worked in with their existing branding – but we toned down some of their graphic elements and orange & green colours. Instead we created a warm palette of comforting chocolate-themed browns. There is still enough of their branding in there that it feels cohesive – but this look and feel better aligns them with their competitors.
WooCommerce already powered the online store because it offers the perfect blend of flexibility and ease of use. Aroha Chocolate needed a system that was simple to manage day-to-day, but also strong enough to support product expansion and seasonal offerings – as well as product customizations such as their Build A Box gift selection.
We focused on improving the shopping experience through better site structure and navigation, as well as enhancing product pages with strong photography, refining the cart and checkout flow, and ensuring the entire store is optimised for mobile users.
We reorganised the navigation into categories to make it much easier for people to find what they are looking for, as well as be able to filter by specialised chocolate such as their dairy free chocolate, gluten free chocolate or by cocoa percentage.
