Client: Lawrence Golf Club, Lawrence, Otago
Brief: To create a new responsive website for the historic Otago golf club, to promote the club and their modern clubrooms for venue hire.
Lawrence Golf Club is the second oldest golf club in Otago, established in 1894. They had never had a website before, so one was needed to create an online presence for the club, take membership applications online, and also to promote the clubrooms for hire.
The team at Lawrence Golf Club gave us a lot of freedom to establish a look and feel for the club. The golf club did not have an existing logo, so we created one for them based on the iconic imagery from the town signage – a shovel – and a golf club, placed on a shield.
We created a green and gold colour scheme for the golf club, and used serif fonts throughout as a nod to the historic nature of the club, creating a classic and timeless feel for the website. We then mixed this with some bold headings to create the more modern feel to represent the new club house.
We also worked with the team to write the copy for the website.
